Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that a high-level meeting chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was held on Sunday to discuss future coure of actions related to CBSE Class 12 exams 2021 and other upcoming exams. The meeting was also attended by many chief minister, education ministers and education secretaries of different states. Besides, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani were also present in the meeting.

As anticipated that a decision on cancellation of Class 12 exam 2021 would be discussed in the high-level Metting, it turned out majority of chief ministers and other present members in the meeting favoured conducting of exams.  

Later, releasing a video addressing students and other stakeholders, Nishank said that as informed earlier any decision on conducting CBSE 12th Board would be taken only after June 1 the after assessing the Covid 19 situation. "For now, all chief ministers and education secretaries have been asked to submit their feedback," said the Union education Minister, while also asking students, parents and teachers to drop their feedback on his Twitter handle too.  

Exams are likely to be conducted after July 15 as hinted by the Union education Minister himself. He said that as shared by the government that students will be given enough time to prepare themselves for the exams when the decision would be made in this regard.  

Even a news agency PTI, quoting sources,  said that CBSE class 12 exams are likely to be conducted between July 15 and August 26.  

He reiterated that both students' and teachers' safety, security, and future are supremely important to the government.
