AICTE admission date: In a good news for the students who have appeared for All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) examinations, AICTE has extended the last date for admission to various engineering courses till December 31, 2020. “Last date for admission to Engineering Courses is extended upto 31st December, 2020 in only those cases where counselling and admission had not started due to delayed CET of the state or where counselling has yet ot been over with a rise that classes were not started for more than 15 days to take care or the academic requirements of the students to avoid academic loss,” read the notification issued by AICTE.

Earlier, a few states had sent their representation to the council to review the date for admission to various courses in different engineering courses. This includes admissions to UG, UG lateral, diploma, diploma lateral and PG admissions.

It is said that the announcement would also directly impact MHT CET 2020 admissions. With MHT CET 2020 results declared just now, the counselling process for engineering admissions is yet to commence. Hence, with the extension in the admission deadline, engineering colleges in Maharashtra will have to complete the counselling process and admission formalities before 31st December 2020.
