The Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana (NSMN) has been launched by the Maharashtra government to provide assistance to farmers in the state. The scheme provides Rs 6,000 each by the Central and state governments. The Rs 6,000 by the Centre will be given under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This means that a total of Rs 12,000 will be deposited in the bank account of the farmer each year.

Who is eligible for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana?

The farmer must be a resident of Maharashtra to be eligible for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana. The individual should have cultivable agricultural land in their name. To be eligible for the benefit, the individual should be registered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and have a valid bank account as well. The government will directly transfer the money in instalments.

How to apply for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana?

To be eligible for the scheme, the beneficiary must have the following documents:

  • Residence proof of Maharashtra.
  • Aadhaar card.
  • Voter identity card.
  • Mobile number.
  • PM-KISAN registration number.
  • Agricultural land related documents.
  • Bank account details.

Those who are beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will automatically be considered for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana. The e-KYC process has been made compulsory to ensure that the benefits are going into the right hands.

How to apply online for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana?

No separate portal has been created for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana as of now. However, details about the scheme can be obtained on the official website of the Agriculture Department of Maharashtra government.

The farmers, who are receiving financial assistance under PM Kisan Yojana are eligible for Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana. They need to apply separately.

First instalment date for the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana

As per reports, the first instalment of the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana will be released soon. Additional chief secretary of agriculture, Anoop Kumar, told the media that the scheme will be rolled out at the earliest. The scheme will reportedly be restricted to o 8.6 million farmers, instead of the 11.7 million announced by the state government earlier. The reason for this is believed to be discrepancies in the e-KYC. Many farmers have not completed their Aadhaar or land seeding, which is mandatory to get the benefits.
