GST Council Meeting: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council on Tuesday has agreed to levy 28 per cent tax on online gaming, casinos and horse racing.   • 28 per cent tax on online gaming, casinos and horse racing: "GST Council has decided that online gaming, casinos and horse racing will be taxed at 28 per cent at entry point on full face value of bets," West Bengal finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said.

  • GST rates on uncooked/unfried extruded snack pallets brought down from 18% to 5%
  • GST rates on fish soluble paste, rates have been bright down to 5% from 18%
  • GST rates on imitation zari threads brought down to 5% from 12% 
  • GST council has also approved setting up of appellate tribunals, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Maharashtra forest cultural and fisheries minister, informed.
  • GST council has decided to do away with the distinction of game of skill and chance in case of online gaming.
