Aptly called the 'Pink Shift', the initiative will be implemented in all of Delhi Airport's three terminals, allowing women employees to work a full eight-hour shift, according to the press release on Thursday, March 7.

The release also stated that from Terminal Managers to Customer Services Officers, or Customer Services Executives, all will be women who will handle an eight-hour shift.

This will help to recognise the distinctive skills and perspectives that women bring to various roles within aviation, and the all-women shift will set a new standard for inclusivity in the booming aviation industry in India.

It further stated that the integration of women into terminal operations will bring multiple advantages, primarily in diversifying leadership, which will help to introduce a range of experiences, viewpoints, and problem-solving approaches, thereby fostering a more inclusive and comprehensive decision-making process.

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL, said, “The introduction of the all-women shift at Delhi airport is a testament to our commitment to diversity and excellence in terminal operations. This initiative goes beyond immediate operational benefits, serving as a potent source of inspiration for aspiring female professionals in the aviation industry, breaking gender stereotypes, and contributing to a more diverse and dynamic industry landscape.”

This initiative plays an essential role in improving passenger experiences, in addition to optimising operational efficiency and making a substantial contribution to fostering a favourable perception of the airport as a whole, the release stated.
