As fog and cold weather conditions swept wide areas of northern India on Sunday, January 14, airlines like Spicejet and Akasa Air issued fresh announcements regarding the cancellation, delay and its effect on flight operations.

Akasa Air shared the information on X (formerly known as Twitter) that "due to adverse weather (fog) in Varanasi, the below-mentioned flights for 14th January have been cancelled due to poor visibility."

QP 1698 Bengaluru - Varanasi  
QP 1497 Varanasi - Mumbai
QP 1491 Mumbai - Varanasi
QP 1424 Varanasi - Bengaluru

Akasa Air further mentioned, "We understand this may impact your travel plans and regret the inconvenience. You may request a full refund for your existing booking or rebook an alternate available flight at no additional cost by calling our Akasa Care Centre at +91 9606112131."

 

 

Spicejet flight cancelation, delay due to fog

Spicejet also issued a statement saying that due to expected poor visibility at airports in Delhi, Amritsar, Jammu, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Patna, Bagdogra, Darbhanga, Guwahati, Tezpur all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected.

The airline said, "#WeatherUpdate (15th Jan'24): Due to expected poor visibility in Delhi (DEL), Amritsar(ATQ), Jammu(IXJ), Varanasi(VNS), Gorakhpur(GOP), Patna(PAT), Bagdogra (IXB), Darbhanga (DBR), Guwahati (GAU) and Tezpur (TEZ) all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected."

 

Akasa Air airline flight cancelled: Steps to check your refund status

Check the refund status online for the flight booking you cancelled on Akasa Air, you can do so by following these steps:

1. Click on Refund Booking present under 'Manage' section.

2. Fill in your details such as booking reference number/PNR, your email, and your name.

3. Click on the button visible to Check Refund Status.

4. View/ manage refund/payment status.
