Air India important announcement: Air India on Tuesday (October 17) requested people flying out of Kolkata to keep sufficient time in hand to report for their flights in time. "This is due to the traffic congestion expected to continue over the next few days of the festivals. Our counters close 60 minutes prior to departure time," it said.

Recently, Air India also announced that passengers departing from Kolkata during upcoming Durga Puja festivities will enjoy a specially crafted menu featuring traditional Bengali cuisine. This delectable Bengali feast will be served from October 21 to 23.

Passengers will be served a range of mouthwatering dishes, including egg chicken rolls, mutton kasha (mutton cooked in a thick, rich gravy), fish kabiraji (crispy fried fish with an egg coating), and koraishutir kachori (pea kachori), among other delectable offerings, as mentioned in the airline's statement. Furthermore, the airline plans to include popular Bengali desserts to complete the culinary experience.

Getting inspired from the airline, Akasa Air is also serving special Dussehra meals, available throughout October across its network.

Shardiya Navratri 2023, a significant Hindu festival spanning nine days, commenced on October 15 and will conclude on October 23. During this period, devotees pay tribute to Maa Durga through various rituals and celebrations, honouring her nine divine forms.
