All small and marginal landholder farmer families consisting of husband, wife and minor children with cultivable landholding in their names are eligible under the PM-KISAN scheme.

Who is not eligible under the PM-KISAN scheme?

Institutional landholders and farmer families whose member/s have paid income tax in the last assessment year, hold or used to hold constitutional posts are not eligible for the benefits. Families whose members are former and present mayors of Municipal Corporations, chairpersons of District Panchayats, as well as former or current members of the state legislative assemblies, state legislative councils, Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha are not a part of the scheme.

What are the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme?

The scheme aims to provide financial help to small and marginal farmers. Under PM-KISAN Yojana Rs 6,000 in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each will be deposited in the farmer’s Aadhaar-linked bank account every four months.

The states/Union Territory prepares a database of eligible landholder farmer families. The lists would be displayed at the Panchayats to ensure transparency. The states/Union Territories would notify the sanction of the benefit to the beneficiaries through a system-generated SMS.

What is the instalment date of the PM-KISAN scheme?

The government will likely release the 15th instalment of the PM-KISAN Yojana between November and December this year, as per reports. There has been no official announcement by the government on the matter. The government released the 14th instalment on July 27.

PM-KISAN Yojana: How to apply

Step 1: Visit the official website at pmkisan.gov.in and go to the section labelled ‘farmer’s corner’.

Step 2: Click on ‘New Farmer Registration’. Enter Aadhaar number and the captcha.

Step 3: Enter the required details.

Step 4: Fill the information asked in the PM-KISAN application and submit.

It is necessary for farmers to get the e-KYC process done otherwise they will not receive the benefits. The process can be completed by using the PM-KISAN web portal or CSC centres.
