In a recent conversation with the founder of Vilvah, Kruthika Kumaran talks about their No secondary packaging and No gifting boxes policy in Vilvah. The beauty industry generates billions of waste each year and secondary packaging is a large chunk of this waste. Secondary packaging is the wrapping or the outer box for a beauty product, we have to discard when we have to use the product, with an average lifespan of 12 minutes from when it reaches your home till it reaches the dustbin. The Global Beauty Industry is huge and produces a massive amount of secondary packaging waste. This needs immediate attention.

In 2018, Vilvah started the transition to non-plastic packaging to Aluminium containers and we have decided consciously that there must be no outer cardboard boxes for the aluminium or glass containers. We are more determined and conscious than ever before about the resources we use and what we leave for the next generation. Whether that's the waste generated from the secondary packaging or even the sparking gift boxes for Festive season, We urge our customers to make mindful and careful decisions.
