Almost after three months, Vedanta Limited is all set to announce a second interim dividend for the financial year 2021-22, the company said in a filing to exchanges on Wednesday.

The company according to BSE filing said, “The Board of Directors of the Company (the “Board”) on Saturday, December 11, 2021, will consider and approve Second Interim Dividend on equity shares, if any, for the Financial Year 2021-22.”

One announced, the company mentioned that the record date for the purpose of determining the entitlement of the equity shareholders for the said dividend, if declared, is being fixed as Saturday, December 18, 2021, Vedanta further said in a filing.

The metal heavyweight had announced the first interim dividend in September 2021. It had paid an interim dividend of Rs 18.50 per equity share and the record date set was September 9, 2021.

Earlier on December 7, 2021, Vedanta group firm Hindustan Zinc said that its board has approved an interim dividend of Rs 18 per equity share for 2021-22, amounting to Rs 7,605.57 crore. 

The company in filing had said, “The record date for purpose of determining the eligibility for payment of the interim dividend is December 15.”

The stock on Wednesday closed flat with minor gains up 0.62 per cent to Rs 342 per share on the NSE as compared to 1.7 per cent rise in the Nifty50. The stock in year-to-date period of 2021 has jumped 113 per cent on the bourses.

Vedanta earlier in November had announced restructuring of all the entities under the parent group, the company said it was planning to list its aluminium, iron and steel, and oil and gas businesses as separate entities.
