The sector presents abundant opportunities with an estimated market potential of US$100 billion by 2030. Collaborative R&D initiatives between academia and industry, coupled with dedicated AI centres in leading educational institutions, will fuel innovation. An integrated approach to the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme is crucial to propel growth. Leveraging India's role as a major supplier of nutraceutical raw materials, aligning the PLI scheme with sector needs will bolster manufacturing and export of value-added products. Encouraging public-private partnerships for R&D and clinical trials, the government provides financial and non-financial support across research, technology, and manufacturing. Establishing three AI centres of excellence in renowned educational institutions will foster interdisciplinary research in agriculture, health, and sustainable cities.

International collaborations will expand the market reach for Indian nutraceutical firms. Strengthening the industry requires an integrated supply chain and a dedicated governing body for industry-government interactions. Streamlining business processes, offering incentives, and addressing regulatory barriers will further propel growth.
