E-commerce marketplace Snapdeal has resumed operations in 96 cities covering, a company release said. The cities in which services have been resumed include many small cities like Agra, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jalandhar, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kota, Nashik, Patna, Raipur, Surat covering more than 15000 pin codes, the release further said.

The services have still not started in metro cities.

Snapdeal's current operations cover essential goods which are in high demand and include grocery items like rice, tea, coffee, atta etc, the release said. Supplies of household cleaning supplies have been prioritised by the e-marketplace.

To boost supplies, Snapdeal has tied up with local grocers and wholesalers to make fast intra-city deliveries, the release said. It is also tying up with local Kisan Mandis in metro cities to ensure availability of staples like pulses, salt, sugar, cooking oil and other packaged food items like biscuits, juices in a cost-effective manner.

The company is also making available disposable masks in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad and is seeking to expand the availability to select other cities, the release said.
 
While Snapdeal is accepting orders for both essential and non-essential goods, the delivery for the latter willbe done after the lockdown period ends, it said.

Snapdeal employees will also donate a day's salary to the PM-CARES fund that, the release said.
