Mukesh Ambani-backed Reliance Jio since it's entry has created a disruption in telecom market, damaging fortunes of other incumbent operators with free offers and sharply discounted plans.

While small telecom firms chose to consolidate with bigger ones, aggressive pricing offering data war still remain between RJio and it's rival Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular. 

However, it needs to be noted that RJio continues to offer the lowest recharge plan for one-month period to its customer base, and only Airtel has managed to match that level giving stiff competition. 

Rs 149 recharge offer by RJio: 

Under Rs 149 plan, RJio is offering unlimited data at 4.2 GB high speed with daily limit of 0.15 GB for a validity period of 28 days. If a user exhausts the data, they will still be able to enjoy internet at 64 kbps speed.

Also customers can avail unlimited free voice calls including local, STD and roaming to all operators. 

Further, the users get 300 free local, STD and roaming SMS. They will also get access to  Jio Cinema, Jio Music and My Jio.

About 19.5 million customers have opted RJio network as on September 2017. 

Airtel's Rs 149 and Rs 199 prepaid recharge plan: 

In Rs 149 plan, Airtel is offering 300MB data along with unlimited local and STD calls for 28 days.  However, only 4G handset users will be eligible for the 300 MB data, while others can consume only 50 MB. 

As for Rs 199 recharge, an Airtel user gets unlimited local and STD calls with 1GB 4G/3G/2G data for 28 days. 

Rs 199 prepaid recharge offer of Vodafone: 

Just like above two telcos, Vodafone is also offering unlimited data and STD calls for 28 days period. However, a prepaid user will only get 1GB for 4G/3G data under Rs 199 offer. 

Apart from this, customers who utilize over 1000 local or STD minutes in any period of seven-consecutive days will be charged 30 paisa per minute for the rest of seven days period. Post exhaustion of 250 minutes in a day, the operator will charge 30 paisa per minute.

Vodafone's 30 paisa per minute charge will also be applicable for remaining validity, after a customer has called more than 300 unique number in a week. 

Recent data of telecom regulator TRAI, revealed that in India 4G network, Reliance Jio maintained leadership in providing broadband internet access with 138.6 million users and 24.67% market share in September 2017. 

RJio was followed by Airtel at second spot with 19.17% market share, Vodafone with 14.15%  and Ideal with 9.12% market share.
