RJio is called a disruptor because of its market strategy of giving heavy data, unlimited calls, cashback offers and cheap recharge packs. And this move today justifies the tag. In the latest development, RJio has revised  its entire prepaid recharge packs in the face of fierce competition from Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular. Guess what! RJio is offering no less than 3GB data per day benefit now! As if even this was not enough, RJio is giving between 3GB data per day to a massive 6.5GB data per day and that too at a low-budget.

RJio is offering the massive 6.5GB data per day at a recharge pack of Rs 799. Earlier this pack was offering only 5GB data daily. With every revised plan, RJio has declared a tariff war against its competitors, especially Airtel.

To understand how RJio disrupts the peace of Airtel, Idea and Vodafone, let's compare the Mukesh Ambani-led company's Rs 799 pack. All the four telcos have a similar pack.

RJio Rs 799 pack!

RJio gives 6.5GB data per day in 4G network for a period of 28 day. The company is giving a total 182GB data, unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day along with complimentary Jio App subscription.

Jio is also offering Rs 100 discount on all recharges of Rs 300 and above, and 20% on recharges below Rs 300 price point, if the user recharges through MyJio app and uses PhonePe wallet for payment.

Airtel

Under Rs 799 pack, Airtel gives 4GB data per day for 28 days to all prepaid customers, thereby, giving a total of 112GB data. Going ahead, there is unlimited local, STD and national roaming calls, along with 100 SMS per day.

If payment made through Airtel Payments Bank, then a customer is also eligible to earn up to 100% cashback on recharge.

Idea

For the same value, Idea is giving 3.5GB data per day in 4G/2G network for 28 days, along with only 98GB data. The unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day is also available.

Vodafone

In the same price, Vodafone is giving 4.5GB data per day in 4G/3G network for 28 day. With this plan, Vodafone has become second highest data provider after RJio by offering overall 126GB data for the said period. This is a bonus card offer with zero talktime charges - which simply means a user gets unlimited Local, STD & Roaming calls within India.

Apart from this, Vodafone also provides Free LIVE TV, Movies, SMS PLAY and Vodafone Play App in this pack.

Therefore, RJio has once again stirred a tariff war and how other telcos react to this will be keenly watched.

In a statement, RJio said, “Jio maintains its Everyday More Value (EDMV) promise committed at the time of the launch of its services, which states that every Jio user will get the BEST TARIFFS in the industry, always.”

RJio further added, “the EDMV promise assures that Jio users will always get MORE BENEFITS than any other operator in the industry. Jio now provides 1.5GB/day additional Jio 4G data to EVERY JIO USER who recharges with any daily-recurring data pack.”

With additional 1.5GB enhancement in its data pack, RJio has brought down cost of per GB to Rs 1.77, as per TelecomTalk report.
