2018 was a mixed year for markets and India Inc. Interestingly, the telecom sector also witnessed some exciting changes including the introduction of affordable data packs offering 1.5GB data daily. The offering came after Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio introduced cheaper plans for customers. It also forced other telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and even state-owned BSNL to bring down their rates. It would not be wrong to say that RJio since inception has given sleepless nights to its rivals like Airtel, Idea and Vodafone.

There was a time when having even 1GB data for a month was sufficient. But, Jio turned the tables as it started offering 1GB daily data. RJio who was already aggressive enough for stirring tariff war, made sure no other telcos can provide best prepaid packs. Hence, when telecom giant like Airtel was catching up pace with RJio this year, the Mukesh Ambani led company started providing 1.5GB 4G data per day.

However, Airtel in past few months has been forced to follow Jio's footsteps and the Sunil Mittal-led company has also launched its own 1.5GB data daily prepaid packs. Here is a comparison of prepaid plans with 1.5GB data offered by these two telecom operators.

RJio’s 1.5GB data plans:

There are 5 prepaid plans of RJio who offers 1.5GB data daily in 4G network. The lowest one begins at Rs 149 for 28 days with total 42GB data, followed by Rs 349 pack for 70 days with total 105GB data. Not only this, RJio also gives 1.5GB data daily in Rs 399 and Rs 449 recharge pack for period of 84 days and 91 days respectively. These two packs offer overall 126GB data and 136GB data in their respective validity period.

If this is not enough, then guess what! You can also enjoy 1.5GB data for an entire year by just making recharge of Rs 365 with RJio. The company offers a massive 547.5GB data for 365 days under this pack.

Apart from this, all the above mentioned prepaid plans include unlimited voice callings, 100 SMS per day and complimentary subscriptions to Jio Apps.

Airtel’s 1.5GB data daily packs:

It is noteworthy to witness the risks Airtel takes in retaining its subscribers. To fight back, Airtel recently launched prepaid recharge pack of Rs 199 under which a customer will get 1.5GB data per day in 2G/3G/4G network for 28 days period. Apart from this, there is unlimited local, STD, roaming incoming and roaming outgoing calls also available. Meanwhile, 100 SMS per day is given.

Airtel also has a recharge pack of Rs 448 where the company offers 1.5GB data daily in 2G/3G/4G network for 82 days. Along with, the pack has unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day.
