A new round of altering plans to keep up with the competition began after Reliance Jio announced two new plans in its pool of monthly recharges. Vodafone India has now tweaked its own Rs 199 plan to include more data in it.

The Rs 199 tariff plan by Vodafone now gives 1GB data per day for 28 days, a report by TelecomTalk said. Earlier the company was offering 1GB of 3G/4G data for the entire month.

Vodafone is also offering unlimited voice calls in local and roaming circles with this plan. Customers will also get 100 SMS per day for 28 days, which takes it to 2800 SMS per month.

Vodafone has also introduced a new plan for first time rechargers. Its FRC plan of Rs 229 offers 1GB 4G/3G/2G data per day.

Other benefits like 100 SMS per day, and unlimited voice calls for 28 days are also included in this bundled plan. This offer is open to all new Vodafone customers irrespective of which handset they’re using, the report added.

Reliance Jio on Friday unveiled its ‘Happy New Year’ plan.

Its Rs 199 offers subscribers 1.2GB per day, taking the total data in the month to 33.6GB.

In addition to ‘unlimited’ voice calls, SMS and Jio app benefits are also provided in its Rs 199 plan.

For high data users, the Rs 299 plan offers free voice, unlimited data, which means 2 GB ‘high speed’ 4G data per day, Jio said.

This plan also offers unlimited SMS and access to Premium Jio Apps for all Jio Prime Members for 28 days.

Airtel and Idea Cellular customers can also avail similar benefits for Rs 199 as the operators have added benefits to their respective plans.

Idea’s Rs 199 plan offers 28GB data for the validity period, along with voice calling and SMS benefits too.

While Airtel’s Rs 199 plan offers 1GB data per day, instead of the earlier 1GB data for the entire validity period.
