Broadband subscribers in India using 4G data increased radically post the launch of Reliance Jio that brought pan India presence of the network, data published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Thursday revealed.

From just 8050 Terabytes (TB) in June 2016 to 3,999,012 TB in June 2017, 4G data usage has skyrocketed.

“2G data usage was 100,390 terabytes, 3G data usage was 690,743 terabyte, 4G data usage was 3,999,012 terabytes and CDMA data usage was 16,270 terabytes,” TRAI said.

Sequentially, post September last year 2G data connectivity has dropped.
