Reliance Industries AGM: Reliance Jio has brought massive changes in India’s Telecom market. It has also played a major role in lowering data costs for common people. Now again, parent Reliance Industries is looking to ensure Reliance Jio plays the role of a disruptor again and to do this, it may announce the launch of Jio Fiber broadband services in India. Reliance Industries is going to host their Annual General Meeting (AGM) today. In the last Annual General Meeting that really caught eye-balls was when Reliance JioPhones were announced.

Notably, for quite some time, Reliance Jio has been testing its JioFiber broadband service and it is expected to announce its launch today. 

When it was introduced in 2016, Jio offered free data and voice calling in initial months and all the other Telecom companies were forced to lower their data prices. People went crazy to buy Jio SIM cards. 

According to the reports, the company may offer 100GB of data with a superb speed of 100Mbps for about 90 days. On the other hand, Jio FTTH (Fiber-to-the-home) service is expected to be fully ready by the end of 2018. Reliance Jio may offer high-speed data to 10 cities of the country. These may include Mumbai, NCR, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Surat, Vadodara.

The Annual general meeting is likely to begin at 11:00 AM at Birla Matushri Sabhagar in Mumbai. Due to the big announcements made in RIL’s AGM in last two years, it has now become a much-talked affair. A report says that JioFiber broadband service might cost under Rs 1,000 along with video and voice call services. The user who would use their monthly limit would get 100GB data in add-on recharge packs. Through this, they can get 40GB free data up to 25 times in 30 days. So, the user ends up getting 1,100GB data per month.

With unlimited voice calling services, voice over Internet protocol (Vo-IP) JioFiber broadband service will provide video call services too. JioFiber router will cost users Rs 4,500 in the form of security deposit.
