PNB to close this service, withdraw your money before April 30
Under PNB Kitty service, customers were able to to purchase items online and could also make payments using the money stored in the wallet instead of using other mode of payments like credit card, debit card or net banking.
One of the largest public sector banks, Punjab National Bank (PNB), has recently announced to discontinue one of its services, PNB Kitty, from this month. Issuing an alert in this regard, the bank said, "Dear PNB Kitty User, Bank has decided to discontinue the wallet. Please transfer amount lying in wallet by login into application by 30.04.2019 and close your wallet. HO PNB." Notably, PNB Kitty is a digital wallet allowing customers to make e-commerce transactions.
Under this wallet service, customers were able to to purchase items online and could also make payments using the money stored in the wallet instead of using other mode of payments like credit card, debit card or net banking, thereby, making payments without sharing the sensitive credentials like Internet Banking passwords or Card details.
Those who have been using this wallet service should immediately close their account if their balance is zero, other wise they can spend the rest of amount or transfer it through IMPS to other account. According to PNB website, "User can close wallet account only if balance is zero. If balance is not zero, user has to either spend money or send it to other accounts using IMPS."
Further, the bank said, "When the customer wants to change the registered mobile in the bank, he has to first spend the balance amount in the wallet and close the wallet. Otherwise he will not be able to change his mobile number in the branch."
Under this facility, registered customers for WALLET were able to do transactions without using his sensitive credentials. These services include: Wallet to Wallet transfer using mobile number of the receiver; Transfer to bank account using IMPS (using account number and IFSC); Recharge (Mobile/Dish TV); Utility Bill payment transactions; and e-commerce transactions on a variety of merchant websites choosing PNB Wallet as an option for payment. Notably, users were also allowed the facility to send money through QR code, according to the website.

The bank issued two types of wallet in the name of PNB Kitty including Open Wallet and Semi-Closed Wallet, providing several exclusive services.
