Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday said that it has sold a total of 1,30,280 vehicles in the month of February 2017, up by 11% from 1,17,451 vehicles sold in the same month of previous year.

Domestic sales stood at 1,20,599 units, up 11.5% compared to 1,08,115 units in the similar month of last year.  Exports were at 9,545 unit rising sequentially by 2.2% from 9,336 units of February 2016. 

Utility vehicles once again bagged the spot light for Maruti by recording a whopping growth of 110.5% with sales of 17,863 vehicles in February 2017 compared to 8,484 vehicles in February 2016. 

On year-on-year (YoY) basis, among passenger cars only mid-size and compact vehicles  performed better with sales of 5,886 units and 47,002 units increasing by 14% and 9.4%, respectively. 

Maruti's mid-sized segment includes Ciaz and compact vehicles involves Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Baleno, Dzire and Ignis. 

So far in current fiscal (April 2016 - February 2017), Maruti has sold 14,28,840 vehicles, up 9.9% from 12,99,903 vehicles a year ago same period. 

Shares of Maruti Suzuki were trading at Rs 5978 per piece on BSE, higher by Rs 55 or 0.93%.
