The buildings and factories business of L&T Construction has bagged orders worth Rs 3,355 crore from India International Convention & Exhibition Centre Limited, India's largest private sector exhibition centre.

The order is for construction and designing of a state-of-the-art India International Convention & Expo Center (IICC) in New Delhi, Larsen & Toubro said in a statement.

The project is planned over 89 hectares of land in Dwarka. It will feature world class infrastructure facilities such as exhibition spaces, convention areas, hotels, commercial offices, retail spaces and a 20,000-capacity multi-purpose space.

The facilities will be on a par with the best in the world and will offer an exquisite ambiance and high-quality setting for international as well as national meetings, conferences, exhibitions and trade shows.

However, the statement did not mention the timeline for completion of the project.

“This is an extremely prestigious and important project for us considering the size and scale of the project as  envisaged by our client,” said S N Subrahmanyan, Chief executive officer and manaaging director, Larsen & Toubro.

“It will give us an opportunity to showcase our expertise in design, construction and project management of mega projects and we are confident of delivering the expo centre on time and with international quality standards,” he added.

Apart from the detailed design, L&T’s scope of works also includes civil construction, architectural finishes and ICT networks.
