JSW Steel on Monday said that the company produced 43% more steel in the third quarter ended December 31, 2016 as against the same period of last year.

The company said that its crude steel production for the gievn quarter stood at 3.86 million tonne as against 2.70 million tonne, last year. 

JSW Steel further said that flat steel production in the given quarter grew 52%, at 2.83 million tonne, while long steel production rose to 0.72 million tonne, up 18%. 

For the nine-month period, JSW Steel said that its crude steel productio, flat and long steel production grew 25%, 22% and 22%, respectively. 

Shares of JSW Steel were trading up by 1.68% on NSE Nifty at 1114 hours.
