Tata Motors' Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in the month of June 2017, recorded sales of 51,591 vehicles rising by 11% on year-on-year (YoY) basis. 

Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said, “Jaguar Land Rover saw another positive performance in June, led by strong sales in China, both from imported vehicles and our Chinese joint venture."

On geographical basis, retail sales this month in China grew by a whopping 65.3% yoy, while sales in UK grew by 3.8% yoy, Europe by 3.7% yoy and North America by 3.2% yoy. Meanwhile sales in overseas markets saw decline of 8.5% on yoy basis. 

Jaguar sales increased by 16.4% YoY by witnessing sales of 15,343 vehicles on the back strong continued sales from F-PACE and the long wheel base Jaguar XFL in China.

Land Rover retailed 36,248 vehicles in June, up 8.9% yoy led by continuing strong demand for Discovery Sport and strong sales of Range Rover.

JLR in the statement said, "Sales of the new Discovery continue to grow following its launch in North America and China. The new Range Rover Velar will begin sales in July."

In the first quarter of financial year 2017-18 (Q1FY18), JLR recorded sales of 137,463 vehicles which grew by just 3.5% yoy. Of these,  Jaguar retailed 41,266 vehicles in the period rising by 29.7% yoy and on the other Land Rover saw sales of 96,197 vehicles down 4.7% yoy.
