The month's performance has been driven by strong sales of Land Rover Discovery Sport, Jaguar XE and F-PACE, the company said in a statement.

During the month, Jaguar Land Rover has delivered a particularly solid performance in China and North America with retail sales increasing by 64 per cent and 51 per cent respectively compared to the previous year, it added.

"Retail sales were up year-on-year across all other regions -- 38 per cent in the UK, 24 per cent in Europe and 2 per cent in other overseas markets," it said.

Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director Andy Goss said: "This has been another record month for Jaguar Land Rover with impressive sales across both of our brands."

Discovery Sport and Jaguar XE have delivered record July sales performances and Jaguar F-PACE is in popular demand with our customers, reflecting the global appeal of our strongest ever vehicle line up, he added.

Land Rover's SUV sales were up 19 per cent in July at 31,288 vehicles. The Jaguar brand also recorded its best July ever, delivering 13,198 vehicles, up 91% on the previous year, the company said.
