Domestic budget carrier IndiGo is set to launch six new daily flights to and from Kolkata, effective July 20, said the airline, adding that it will operate daily non-stop flights on Shillong-Kolkata and Raipur-Kolkata routes with its ATR-18 aircraft. Notably, Kolkata-Shillong-Kolkata will be the firm's next route under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). "Effective July 20, IndiGo will operate daily non-stop flights on Shillong-Kolkata and Raipur-Kolkata route with its ATR-18 aircraft," the airline stated on Wednesday.

Chief Commercial Officer of IndiGo William Boulter said, "We are strengthening our network from Kolkata with six new flights including a new RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme) route. Kolkata-Shillong-Kolkata, our next RCS route, will significantly increase connectivity and tourist traffic in the northeast region." With 44.3 per cent share of the domestic passenger market in first quarter of 2019, IndiGo is the country's largest carrier, according to DGCA data.

Earlier on May 14, IndiGo announced a three-day Summer Sale across its 53 domestic and 17 international destinations. The sale commenced on May 14 and today is the last date for it. Passengers were allowed to avail the all-inclusive fares starting at Rs 999 on domestic and international routes. Flyers can avail of this offer for travel between May 29 and September 28, 2019.

The company website termed the sale as 10 lakh seats on sale, informed, "Book with fares as low as ₹999* for domestic flights and ₹3499* for international flights," adding "Get flat 10% cashback, up to ₹750* when you pay with digibank Debit Card. Min. transaction: ₹4000. Get cashback up to ₹1000* when you pay with MobiKwik wallet."

Under the three-day summer sale, the routes included were Delhi-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Dubai, Chennai-Kuwait, Delhi-Kuala Lumpur and Bengaluru-Male among many others.
