In an attempt to drive mobile internet penetration and adoption across India, Idea Cellular slashed internet rates on its 4G, 3G and 2G data packs across all circles on Friday.

Idea Cellular users will now get up to 45% more data benefits on sachet packs below 1GB, the company said in a press release on Friday. 

The company offers a wide range of 4G/3G/2G sachet data packs priced between Rs 8 and Rs 225. 

Its 2G data pack priced at Rs 19, which offers 75 MB data for three days, will now offer 110 MB data for three days, whereby offering a 45% more value to the customer. 

Moreover, its 4G/3G data pack at Rs 22, which offers 65 MB data for three days, will now give 90 MB 4G/3G data for three days. 

Idea Cellular, the telecom arm of Aditya Birla Group company, aims to make mobile internet available to every individual in the country. 

“Internet is one of the major drivers of the Indian economy and Digital India. We want to ensure that benefits of Internet are reaped conveniently by every individual, through our innovative, customised and affordable products. This will enable the Internet revolution and its impact to be felt in every part of the country,” Idea Cellular's chief marketing officer Sashi Shankar said in a statement. 

The data benefits or price points for the packs may vary across circles and for further details users should check the company's website, it noted.
