Ahead of its merger with Vodafone, telecom service provider Idea Cellular has unveiled a new prepaid plan of Rs 149, wherein, consumers will get unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS per day. The company has included this plan under voice calling segment to compete against Airtel and BSNL. 
 
Under this Idea prepaid pan, customers will not be able to avail any data. For data facility, they have to get a separate recharge. Otherwise, Idea's Rs 92 data plan provides 6 GB data for 7 days.
 
Earlier, the BSNL launched Rs 99 plan with a validity of 26 days offering free caller tune service. The free caller tune service has been launched to compete against Airtel’s Rs 98 pack and RJio’s Rs 99 plan. 
 
Earlier in a promotional campaign, Idea extended an offer of 30GB data in 4G network. This plan spans its newly launched Idea VoLTE service in a total 15 cities. The company has stated “Idea VoLTE is the revolutionary service that enables you to experience HD quality voice with faster call setup time and reduced background noise, providing you with an unmatched sound clarity on Voice Calls.”
 
Idea VoLTE service was launched in 9 circles including Mumbai, Karnataka, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, UP East, UP West, Bihar & Jharkhand and Rajasthan, and with this plan, Idea’s VoLTE is available in 15 circles which is 85% of India’s subscriber base.
