With its Rs 398 plan, Idea is allowing customers to recharge with the same plan multiple times. Validity of this plan, which is typically 70 days, will be extended to 140 days upon recharging twice.

And the days of validity will keep getting extended after that.

The report added that number of times one can recharge with the same plan and accumulate days of validity is unknown.

Last week, the company had started its Nirvana plans for post-paid subscribers starting at Rs 389 offering unlimited voice calls and incoming roaming calls.

All Nirvana plans offer 100 local and national SMS per day for the entire billing period.

The Nirvana plans allow subscribers of the Rs 1,699 plan and above to accumulate maximum data of 500GB, while customers with Nirvana plans of Rs 1,299 and below can accumulate 200GB on their accounts.

In keeping up with the competition in the sector, Vodafone and Airtel have also been tweaking their prepaid and post-paid plans. All three incumbent players now offer post-paid subscribers to ‘rollover’ their data to the next month.
