Q: What are your plans for FY22, and business-wise do you think that the worst is behind us and we can move ahead strongly?

A: As far as the real estate sector is concerned, it will take some more time for the real estate sector to emerge. But I think that to a great extent, we will be able to come out of the COVID-19 situation in FY22. The real estate sector is trying to reach the last year’s level and, in this quarter,, we have seen that there was a slight increase in sales. At many places, people who want to invest their money in secured investment have come forward. Even, first time home buyers are preparing to buy the house. Currently, the rate of interest is the lowest in the last 6-10 years, so, it is the best opportunity for homebuyers to buy a house. I think, more improvement will be seen in the coming quarters in the home sector.

Even the government has taken several steps in affordable housing among others, and I feel, its impact will be felt in the next one or two quarters. As far as GIC Housing Finance is concerned, we at our company are offering discounts on home loans to women, where women are the first buyer. And, we want that more women – the working women – should buy their house and come to us so that we can help them. So, we have been working for women also.
