If you are a looking for a job at the State Bank of India (SBI) you will need to have your Aadhaar number ready. 

SBI, on its recruitment site, stated that it has proposed to introduce the scheme of verifying the identity of candidates applying for all its recruitment processes through Aadhaar with effect from July 01, 2017.

“Ascertaining the identities of candidates is critical for fair conduct of recruitment process and prevention of impersonation. Pursuant to Section 57 of the Aadhaar Act 2016, SBI proposes to verify the identity of the candidates through Aadhaar number in all its recruitment processes,” said SBI.

A candidate now while applying for a job at SBI will have to provide the 12 digit Aadhaar number or a 28 digit Aadhaar enrolment ID in case if the Aadhaar has been applied but not yet received.

Above provisions is applicable in all States and Union Territories of India except the states of Jammu Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam. 

Applicants from these above mentioned states can use voter ID, passport, driving license or any other valid document for applying in SBI.

Currently there are four roles mentioned on SBI's recruitment site. They are – Probationary Officer (PO), Junior Associate, Lateral Hiring and Management Trainees.

On June 04, 2017, SBI had conducted a main exam for candidates who have applied for PO and had cleared their preliminary tests held between April 29 – May 07, 2017.

The declaration of the main exam for PO is scheduled on June 19, 2017. From July 10 on wards,SBI will start interviewing these candidates.

Recruitment for the various posts in the Lateral Hire is conducted as per vacancies indented by SBI and some this posts are carried out in various Grades are Economist, Chartered Accountant, Hindi (Official Language) Officers, Law Officers, Security Officers, System Officers, Electrical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Network Engineers, Fire Officers, Medical Officers (Permanent-Part-Time), Risk Analysts etc.

While for management trainees selection by SBI is made on a contractual basis for 5 years. 

At present, SBI has held for special management executive exam on June 18, 2017

These management executives are appointed in specialized departments in SBI to oversee and supervise certain banking activities.Hence the job profile of SMEs would differ based on the division they are appointed.

Last date to apply online for the management executive exams was on May 18, 2017.

Also there are interviews available for the position of officers in wealth management and for special cadre officers.
