A big news has come for speciality chemical companies SRF Limited and Century Enka on the extension of the anti-dumping duty on the import of Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric (NTCF). In this big exclusive news, Zee Business Executive Editor Swati Khandelwal told Managing Editor Anil Singhvi that these companies, are in the business of manufacturing NTCF – a fabric which is used as a reinforcing material for tyres and designed to keep them in shape and support vehicle weight. This material has an important role to play in the performance of tyres.

It has been revealed that the two companies have filed a review petition urging the government to continue the imposition of anti-dumping duty on the imports of NTCF from China.

  This material is used in different types of automotive tyres, Khandelwal said.  

The two companies are the biggest producers of this material, she further said. 

The two companies made a request in the wake of NTCF dumping being done from China. This review was initiated on 21 November, 2019.  

The hearing on this issue was scheduled for today, she said. A view will be taken on this, Khandelwal said.  

The period of investigation is between July 2018 and June 2019, i.e. one year. A preliminary investigation on this issue by Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) revealed that there was “definitely” some dumping being done by China, she said.
