In an exclusive interview, Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi spoke to Rajesh Tripathi Chairman and Manging Director (CMD) of Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI). As the CMD demits office tomorrow after serving it for a long time, Singhvi complimented him and wished good luck in his future endeavours.

The Dredging Corporation of India is expected to sign MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) worth Rs 14,000 cr next week during a maritime summit. This news was first broken by Zee Business.

Tripathi said that the DCI will be signing 18 MoUs worth Rs 14,000 cr. The company has already signed MoUs worth Rs 12,000 cr. The company will cross its targets, he added. The summit is scheduled between 2 and 4 March.  

About the Existing MoUs 

The CMD said that the MoUs are very wide ranging. The DCI has signed maintenance dredging MoU for four ports for the next five years. Barring Kandla port, the DCI will also be signing non-binding MoUs with other ports. The company has also signed several MoUs with its vendors like BEML.

Outlook for DCI 

The CMD said that DCI was biggest national dredging operator in the Indian waters. Moreover India’s coastline spans over 7,500 kms. The company has dredgers to cater to the country’s security needs. He said that the company hopes to get bigger and grow from strength-to-strength.
