Eicher Motors, manufacturer of Royal Enfield, recorded 25% rise in April 2017 sales. The company sold 60,142 units this month compared to 48,197 units in the similar month of the previous year.

Sales of motorcycles with engine capacity up to 350 cc saw sales of 56,349 vehicles, up by 30% versus 43,259 units sold in April 2016.

However, sales of motorcycles with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc declined by 23% by selling 3,793 vehicles this month, as against 4,938 vehicles in April 2016.

Total exports for the month stood at 1,578 units, increasing by 36% from 1,160 units a year ago same month.

In the financial year 2016-17 (FY17), Eicher Motors sold a total of 666,490 units, which grew by 31% compared to 508,154 units sold in the previous fiscal (FY16).
