ICICI Bank on Tuesday said following the recent financial data security breach, the investigation is still on the bank will serve the interests of investors after issuing a proper explanation.

The bank's reply came in after the exchange, BSE sought clarification from it invovling other banks namely State Bank of India, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and YES Bank.

It  said," At the outset we wish to clarify that there was no breach incident within the control of ICICI Bank, pertinent to this item which would have required reporting. The bank are reliably given to understand that the alleged breach occured due to security protocols being compromised at ATMs of a particular bank."

Assuring its customer, ICICI Bank added," Nevertheless the bank has taken steps to preserve the interests of its customers and continues to pursue the matter for enabling effective remediation through authorized channels.

This came after the recent financial data security breach which allegedly compromised about 32 lakh accounts.
