State-run Coal India on Saturday said it has completed buyback of equity shares worth Rs 3,650 crore.

The buyback, which opened on October 3 this year, closed on October 18 and the total number of shares brought back was 10.89 crore at a price of Rs 335 per share.

"The total amount utilised in the buyback of equity share is Rs 3,650 crore...," Coal India said in a BSE filing.

Pursuant to the buyback, the promoter holding in Coal India stands at 79.78%.

The stock of Coal India closed up 2.33% or Rs 7.40 at Rs 324.40 on the BSE on Friday.
