Manchanda said that the telecom regulatory body Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Wednesday will launch a new website, where an individual can search for best telecom operator in that area, or district or state.

Through that website, you can also know which telecom company is providing better voice and data services.

The telecom watchdog has been behind the telecom companies to resolve the call drops issue. In the past two months, Trai conducted independent test drive in 12 cities and the results were reported. As per the results, most of the telecom companies failed to meet the call drop rate of under 2% in major cities.

Last month, when Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha met the CEOs of telecom companies to discuss the call drop problem, he was informed that in the past 45 days the firms have so far installed 48,000  Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to keep a check.

The minister had given a target of installing 60,000 BTS within 100 days.
