Cat GRADE with 3D technology on the 336 Next Gen Excavators enabled the machines to complete the work in comparatively less time. “Reducing material handling is just one of the challenges our customers face, and Cat Grade technology greatly enhances jobsite efficiency,” said J. Archie Lyons, creative director, global brand strategy and activation for Caterpillar, appreciating the role of Cat GRADE with 3D system.

Cat 236D3 skid steer loaders were brought on the scene and used for playing the game. All of these skid steer loaders were remote controlled and represented PAC-MANTM and the four ghosts – BLINKY, INKY, PINKY, and CLYDE. The PAC-MANTM and the ghost avatars were mounted atop the vehicles to help players spot them from over the 4-ft-tall walls. The Cat 236D3s were rented from the Cat Rental Store.

In their new Cat Trial Video, Caterpillar remained true to the original PAC-MANTM game by imitating its rules. They placed POWER PELLETS in four corners which represented Cat dealer services such as Customer Value Agreements, Cat Financial, Repair Options, and Cat App. Moreover, the inclusion of fruit bonuses, represented by Cat boxes, only added to the authenticity of the game, making it ditto yet a gargantuan iteration of PAC-MANTM.

J. Archie Lyons further explains, “we wanted to pay homage to the original game, in a way only Caterpillar could. Due to available memory at the time, level 256 experiences an integer overflow, and the right side of the board can’t be rendered”. To replicate this effect, Caterpillar used 4 Cat Dozers that demolish the right side of the gameboard.
