Exclusive: In big news, sources within the government have informed Zee Business that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government will now focus on Chemical and Petrochemicals. These three companies - Galaxy Surfactants, Aarti Surfactants and Ultramarine Pigments - are likely to get big benefits under Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme from the government in near future.

Speaking to Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi, Chetan Bhutani, Correspondent, Zee Business, said that according to the sources, inter-ministerial consultation has started, and they are going to expand PLI Scheme for chemical and petrochemicals. Sources have revealed that the government is preparing to bring PLI scheme of RS 5,000 crore for dyes and surfactants.

Government is preparing Rs 3,100 crore PLI Scheme for dye and pigment sector to boost domestic manufacturing.  Also, the central government will bring Rs 2,000 crore PLI Scheme for the companies who make detergents and other cleaning products, sources said.

According to the sources, these discussions are taking place between NITI Aayog,  Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Other Ministries are also part of this discussion. Nothing has finalized yet, but there are high chances that Rs 5,000 crore PLI Scheme will be announced for dyes and surfactants.
