Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) witnessed a net profit of Rs 109 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016 as against a net loss of Rs 108.78 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net profit grew 40.15% on a quarter-on-quarter (qoq) basis.

Total income from operations stood at Rs 6664.45 crore, recording a rise of 12.18% yoy and 18.53% qoq. 

Operating profit (EBITDA) was at Rs 155.14 crore for the quarter, compared to an operating loss of Rs 437.92 crore a year ago.

Shares of BHEL jumped by 3.34% on BSE, trading at Rs 143.80 per share at 2.36 pm.
