HDFC Bank has recently opened the gates for professionals who are looking to work with the lender. Starting salaries at Rs 4 lakh per annum are on offer by the lender in this newly launched drive. Interestingly, while HDFC Bank seeks suitable candidates to join their organisation, the lender has also warned about a fraud where scammers are offering jobs to gullible people and in return asking for hefty amounts. Looking at this, HDFC Bank has sent out a notification on its website saying, "Be aware of fraudulent job offers."

According to HDFC Bank, fraudsters are defrauding innocent job seekers. They contact the job aspirant through mass-communication channels like email, SMS, etc. and offer a job in a big company. These agencies generally provide a fake link in their mail or ask for personal information and finally request money to be sent to them to issue offer/appointment letters. The innocent job aspirants fall prey to these tricks used by fraudsters and end up paying money without any gain.

For your information, the lender states that, they have gone digital in issuing their Appointment Letters. HDFC Bank, in a statement, says, "We no longer issue hard copy appointment letters to prospective candidates. These digital appointment letters are packed with electronically verified signatures."

How does one fall victim to such fraud?

The bank says that these fake appointment letters are generally badly written and come with a lot of spelling errors and grammatical mistakes and have faded or old logo of the company, enough to make one suspicious about the offer.

Not only that, these fake letters come with a  sweet deal one has not bargained for: pay a small amount now, and enjoy the benefits the job can bring throughout your life. Enough to throw all caution to the winds to make you feel that you are the luckiest one.

Hence, HDFC Bank says that it does not:

Charge applicants any recruitment fee for gaining employment / ask you to deposit any money for giving job offers;

OR

Authorize any third party (such as vendors, placement services, recruitment agencies etc.) to make any employment offers to the applicants / candidates and does not collect any fee / registration / recruitment charges etc for referring and placing applicants / candidates with them.

" If any such entity fraudulently representing HDFC Bank approaches you, please refrain from responding to them and do not pay any fee / charges / payment to them. HDFC Bank will not accept any liability for the actions of candidates on spoofed mails / communication," warns the bank.

HDFC Banks, officially, is looking to hire 5,000 professionals over the next 2-3 years. Starting salary for working with HDFC Bank would be around Rs 4 lakh per annum, plus allowances depending on the category of town/city of posting.
