Two- and three-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto reported a 2% decline in its September sales on the back of weak exports.

The company said that it sold 3,76,765 units in the given month as against to 3,84,400 units in the same month of the last year. 

In September, total domestic sales stood at 2,55,592 units, up by 21% versus 2,10,599 units of September 2015. While total export sales stood at 1,21,173 units, down 30% from 1,73,801 units of September 2015. 

Under motorcycle category, domestic sales stood at 2,30,502 units, a rise of 23% from 1,87,711 units a year ago same month. While export sales declined by 29% to 1,01,474 units from 1,42,517 units in September 2015. 

Going ahead, the domestic commercial vehicles sale rose by 10% to 25,090, against 22,888 units. Under this, export sales declined by 37% to 19,699 units sold in this month, from 31,284 units of September 2015.

So far, in the current fiscal, Bajaj Auto has sold 20,26,678 vehicles, a decline of 2% compared to 20,69,625 units of last year. 

Shares of Bajaj Auto was trading at Rs 2897 on BSE, up by Rs 64.85 or 2.29%.
