Bajaj Auto on Tuesday said that its domestic motorcycle sales rose 5% in the month of October 2016, at 212, 997 units as against 202,042 units in the same month of last year. Total sales for the given month rose by just 1%.

The company said that its exports stood at 94,895 units as against 106,691 units, a fall of 11%. Total volumes of motorcyles sold, thus, dropped to 307,892 units as against 308,733 units in the given period. 

Domestic sales of commercial vehicles rose 11% and exports of the same rose 7%, the company said. 

However, on a cumulative basis, sales of motorcyles and commercial vehicles jumped 6% whereas exports of the same dropped 8%, at 117,387 units. 

Shares of Bajaj Auto dropped during morning trade on BSE Sensex and stood at Rs 2794.25 per share, down 1.08% at 944 hours.
