Bajaj Auto on Wednesday reported flat sales for the month of April 2017.

The company sold 3,29,800 units this month, a decline of 0.09% compared to 330,109 units in the similar month of the previous year.

In domestic markets, sales declined by 21% to 177,887 units from 226,133 units a year ago same month. However, export market saw 46% rise in sales with 151,913 units versus 103,976 units recorded in April 2016.

Sales from motorcycles were marginally up by 1% to 293,932 units as against 291,898 units a year ago same month.

Meanwhile, commercial vehicles recorded sales of 35,868 units, down by 6% from 38,211 vehicles sold in April 2016.

Overall exports have been better in all segments for Bajaj Auto compared to domestic sales.


Share price of Bajaj Auto was trading at Rs 2,921 per piece on BSE, up by Rs 16 or 0.55%.
