Bajaj Auto on Thursday said it has sold a total of 2,73,513 vehicles in the month of February 2017, compared to 2,72,719 vehicles sold in the similar month of previous year.

The company's sales from domestic market declined by 8% to 1,59,109 units this month, versus 1,73,760 units sold in February 2016. 

While sales from export increased by 16% to 1,14,404 units against 98,959 units sold in the same month last year. 

Sales from motorcycles segment stood at 2,44,958 units, growing by 4% from 2,35,282 units of February 2016. 

However, this month sales from commercial vehicles was at 28,555 units, which down by 24% against 37,437 units of February 2016. 

Year-to-date (April 2016 - February 2017) this fiscal, the company has sold a total of 33,93,753 vehicles, which decreased by 5% compared to 35,87,781 vehicles sold in the corresponding period of previous year. 

On Thursday, shares of Bajaj Auto opened at Rs 2,796.90 a piece on BSE, above Rs 24 or 0.86%.
