In an another attempt to facilitate the smooth intra-state air service in Rajasthan and to expand regional connectivity,  Chief minister Vasundhara Raje flagged off the first Sri Ganganagar flight from Sanganer Airport on Tuesday.

“The government has been making all efforts to ensure smooth intra-state connectivity and has been quite successful in its initiative to connect several cities of the state with Jaipur by air”  Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia said after flagging off Supreme Airlines

Raje also informed  IANS about the few more air-services  which will be started soon to connect more cities of the state. She said, “With Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Jaisalmer and now Sri Ganganagar being connected by air with Jaipur, a few more cities of Rajasthan will be air-connected with the state capital.”

State ministers  including social justice minister Arun Chaturvedi, water resource minister Dr Rampratap and BJP state president Madan Lal Saini, Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra, Chief Secretary DB Gupta, Rajasthan finance commission chairperson Jyoti Kiran and ACS (Civil Aviation) Sudarshan Sethi, also marked the occasion with their presence.

Informing about the new intra-state air service, Raje tweeted, “It is a matter of great pride that today, #Rajasthan boasts of the strongest Intra-State Air connectivity - a result of our commitment to improve Air connectivity in the State from the very beginning, providing a boost to the tourism industry and strengthening the economy.”

The twice a day flight service to Sri Ganganagar will take off  from Jaipur side at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. while  leave from Sri Ganganagar at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m
