In a bid to compete against prepaid plans of Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, Vodafone India has come out with a new tariff plan of Rs 597, offering benefits for 168 days. The new plan offers the longest validity under Rs 1,000. Vodafone is looking to take on Airtel's Rs 597 offer introduced against BSNL.

Vodafone has countered Airtel by rolling out the plan with not only same denomination, but also with similar benefits. For normal smartphone users, the plan offers a validity of 112 days, and for feature phone users, it will give a validity of 168 days.

According to reports, users will get unlimited local, STD and roaming calls within India, 10GB of 4G/3G data and 100 SMS per day for 112 days. The telco, however, has limited the voice calls at 250 minutes per day, 1000 minutes per week, besides users will be able make calls only to 100 unique numbers during the entire validity period.

Notably, Airtel first launched the Rs 597 prepaid plan, offering unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 100 SMS per day and 10GB data for 168 days, but only in some circles. Vodafone, however, is offering the same plan for 112 days for smartphone users.

Vodafone's new Rs 597 plan is also valid in the company’s 4G circles. The plan is reportedly aimed at voice-calling users.

Notably, Reliance Jio recently started JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer, giving a JioPhone at just Rs 501 for users exchanging their old working feature phone. While availing the feature phone offer, the Jio plan also mandates that customers should recharge with Rs 594 plan to avail benefits for six months.
