People took to Twitter on Saturday to voice their outrage at the company and even saw the #BoycottAmazon trending.

The doormats consisted of Hindu gods such as Ganesha and Krishna and were being sold by vendors such as Rock Bull, Nicole's Doormats and a few others, according to a Buzz2day.net report.

It was not only Hindu Gods but it also had Islamic themed doormats on the website.

However, Amazon has now removed these items from their website.

This is not the first time that Amazon has been in trouble for offering products on its portal which were offensive to certain religious communities. In 2014, the company was selling women's leggings with images of Hindu Gods.

Recently Amazon had to pull down merchandise related to the confederate Flag which had fueled issues of racism in the US.
