Volvo has revealed the updated version of XC90 globally. This car will be introduced in FY 2020 and is likely to go for sale in 2019 in India. The updated car comes with a new front grille, more exterior colour options, and alloy wheels. The car comes with six-seat layout with two-seats in all three rows, however, a four-seat and seven-seat configurations will also be available. The model will also be available in a wool blend interior material option.

Mild Hybrid is the new powertrain type for Volvo which made its debut in 2019 XC90 and comes with the existing IC engine. This will result in lower emissions and will offer upto 15 per cent fuel savings and will also come with T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, like before.

First introduced in XC60 model, the updated XC90 model will be equipped with Oncoming Lane Mitigation system and this would be offered in India also. On detecting oncoming vehicle towards the car, this technology can apply brakes.

The Volvo XC90 will be available in both diesel engine and plug-in-hybrid in India and the price of the car will start from Rs 80.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the plug-in-hybrid version will be available from Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Although the new Volvo XC90 model will come later in 2019 the bookings of the car are now open. Volvo is likely to introduce the car in the same price range as mentioned above in India but the carmaker is yet to announce the powertrain options and specifications in the country.
