Volvo C40 Recharge: Key features

The design of the C40 Recharge appears to be similar to that of XC40 Recharge to a large extent, featuring a distinctively sloping roofline and a sharply styled tailgate.

At the rear, the C40 sports an updated tail-lamp design with more extensive LED light guides.

Stepping into the cabin of the Volvo C40 Recharge, you will notice a generously-sized 12.3-inch central portrait touch-screen infotainment system, vertical air conditioning vents, and a digital instrument cluster.

The cabin exudes an eco-conscious ethos as it is entirely leather-free, with illuminated trim pieces adorning the dashboard.

In terms of features, the C40 impresses with its panoramic glass roof, a Harman Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger, a PM2.5 air purifier, connected vehicle technology, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Volvo's reputation for safety remains intact, with the C40 Recharge equipped with a robust safety suite.

This includes seven airbags, hill start and hill descent control, a 360-degree camera, and a blind spot monitor.

It incorporates Level 3 ADAS technology, effective in one-pedal driving.

Volvo claims that one-pedal driving can extend the vehicle's range by 5-10 per cent.

Additionally, recharging the C40 from zero to 100 per cent can be accomplished in 27 minutes using a 150 kW DC fast charger, according to the company.

The C40 Recharge in India mirrors the XC40's power and range characteristics. It features a twin-motor all-wheel-drive power-train producing an impressive 402 bhp of power and 660 Nm of peak torque.

The electric motors are paired with a 78 kWh battery pack, allowing it to deliver a WLTP range of up to 530 km on a full charge, which is more than the 418 km of the XC40 recharge.

Volvo C40 Recharge comes with the ability to accelerate from zero to 100 km per hour in 4.7 seconds.
