The Tata Punch features LED daytime running lights and projector headlamps. Fog lights are positioned on the lower bumper, accompanied by a tri-arrow-themed grille. Notable exterior elements include blacked-out front and rear bumpers, black side-claddings, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, doors with 90-degree opening capability, door handles mounted on the C-pillar, and Y-shaped wraparound LED taillights.

On the other hand, Hyundai Exter adopts the South Korean brand's fresh 'Parametric Dynamism' design language, drawing inspiration from the Hyundai Venue and the Grand i10 Nios. In the front, it features an upright bonnet, H-shaped LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps encased in a gloss black grille, faux skid plate, and 'Exter' lettering positioned above the grille. Other highlights encompass squared-off wheel arches, 15-inch diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, a rear spoiler, shark-fin antenna, H-shaped LED taillights, and distinctive black pattern finishes on the C-pillar and tailgate.

It features a six-speaker setup, a seven-inch instrument cluster, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Additional offerings comprise a reverse parking camera with sensors, driver seat height adjustment, rear defogger, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, rear wiper with washer, and puddle lamps.

Meanwhile, the recently introduced Hyundai Exter introduces several segment-first features such as an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six airbags, metal pedals, a voice-enabled sunroof, a wireless charger, paddle shifters, and a dual dash camera. Furthermore, the top-tier variants of the SUV are equipped with TPMS, keyless entry, ISOFIX child seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, semi-leatherette seat upholstery, and a rear wiper with washer.

Mileage

Talking about Tata Punch, the claimed mileage for the Manual Petrol variant is 20.09 kmpl, whereas the Automatic Petrol variant achieves a mileage of 18.8 kmpl. The Manual CNG variant delivers 26.99 kms/kg.

Different variants of Exter deliver between 19.2 kmpl to 27.1 km/kg. The Manual Petrol model returns a mileage of 19.4 kmpl, while the Automatic Petrol version delivers 19.2 kmpl. In the case of the Manual CNG variant, the claimed mileage is 27.1 km/kg.

Engine

Both SUVs are powered by a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine. However, the Exter's engine is a four-cylinder configuration, while the Punch is equipped with a three-cylinder engine. Transmission options for both SUVs include a five-speed manual and an automated manual transmission (AMT).
